Design vs. Content

The more time you spend on design, the less time you have to develop content. That’s not to say that design isn’t important – because it certainly is. Most people buy cars, watches, furniture, houses and other ‘things’ for their design.

Design sells. Design inspires. Design tells a story.

But when you are a publisher (of a newspaper, an email campaign or a blog) content is rather important stuff too. In fact, most publishers still believe that content is king. And when design requires a significant amount of time, content is sacrificed.

I know this because (as you can probably tell) we’re loading a new template on the blog today and all I have time for is a few lines.
